Baxterbear spends an evening at Prestonfield House
Baxterbear was TREEKLED to spend the evening at Prestonfield House, the most Opulent Boutique Hotel in Edinburgh. Raising funds for St Columba's Hospice in such wonderful surrounding made his night very special.
Prestonfield House owned by James Thomson, born and educated in Edinburgh at James Heriot's, James' acquisition of Prestonfield in 2003 was a long-held dream. He'd been captivated by its charms when working here as a waiter whilst studying at college. Both James Thomson and Baxterbear have worked alongside the Princes Trust.
His bold and lavish restoration saw decades of decline quickly reversed and a revitalized Prestonfield soon gained coveted five-star status, a swathe of accolades and became one of Britain's most talked-about hotels.
Alongside Prestonfield, his collection includes the Witchery by the Castle, hidden within a collection of historic buildings at the gates of Edinburgh Castle, the unique location, stunning decor and legendary Scottish-sourced food have ensured this has become an Edinburgh institution. Edinburgh's first and finest rooftop restaurant, The Tower, has become a must-visit for celebrities visitors to the city, and locals alike, who all love the chicly luxurious interior, exceptional food and the deft service that are the Tower's trademark style.
James is an active ambassador for Scottish tourism, he is involved in a range of industry, educational and charitable organisations. In 2005 he received an OBE for services to hospitality and the Scottish tourism industry.
