My Story

Hello!

I'm Baxterbear, one word, one mission, with a phenomenal story to tell. I was born on 29th February 1928 meaning I’ve lived for more years than I’ve had birthdays! In 2012, the year of the London Olympics and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, I’ll be either 21 or 84 years old – I think that makes me ageless!

Baxterbear on the Childrens Ward

Baxterbear had a lovely day yesterday meeting lots of lovely children who are currently on the wards in Southampton Hospital.
He was TREEKLED to bring a smile to thier faces and give out lots of hugs. A big thank you to all the staff who were very patient with Baxterbear interupting thier day.
Also a big thank you to Walkers Shortbread for supporting this visit.

The Opening of Redheugh Boy's New Club House with Alan Pardew

Baxterbear is TREEKLED to have been invited to the opening of the Redheugh Boy's Club Football to meet Newcastle United Manager Alan Pardue on Thursday 26th of January. Alan heard that Baxterbear had been making a difference to the people of Gateshead and Newcastle and wanted to meet him!

Burns Night with Baxterbear

Baxterbear will be celebrating Burns Night at Sainsburys in Hedge End, Southampton. Come along and join us, see the Haggis Piped in, then enjoy some tastings from Sainsburys selection including Haggis, Whiskey and other traditional fayre.

Baxterbear to help Sports Relief

Baxterbear will be joining with Sainsbury's in Hedge End Southampton to support Sports Relief. Watch this space for futher news on events taking place.

At the end of 2012 provided a £100m Christmas cracker for Comic Relief as Sainsbury’s pledges another six years of support. The supermarket has pledged support for the charity for another six years, which will see the total raised by Sainsbury’s, its colleagues and customers, soar past the £100m mark.

Baxterbear visits Southampton Childrens Hospital

Baxterbear is TREEKLED to be invited to visit the Southampton Childrens Hospital and spend some time on the Wards.

The Children’s Cardiac centre at Southampton has offered expert
medical and surgical treatment for children with congenital and acquired heart disease for almost forty years. Consultant paediatric cardiologists, surgeons, intensivists and nurses work closely together as a team.

Baxterbear returns to Gambia

Baxterbear was TREEKLED to be given a very important job. As he is a great friend of the Rotary Foundation and has made a difference all over the world by raising money to END POLIO NOW! Baxterbear was asked by the Rotary Club of Whickham Clavering in the UK to visit Gambia. He was given a special flag known as a bannerette by Whickham Clavering to deliver to President Safi Saho at the Rotary Club of Banjul! The Banjul Rotarians loved Baxterbear and they were pleased to welcome him into their Rotary Club.

President Safi Saho of the Rotary Club of Banjul, was TREEKLED to receive their baxterbear. Baxterbear had a very special package to be delivered to President Safi Saho, a special flag known as a bannerette by Whickham Clavering.

Baxterbear is TREEKLED that Father Christmas is coming soon. He sends his hugs and wishes everyone a Festive Holiday.
